What is Allen-Bradley Ultraware?
Allen-Bradley’s Ultraware software allows you to setup and configure the follow A-B Servo Drives:
- Ultra 1500
- Ultra 3000
- Ultra 5000
UltraWARE also includes troubleshooting and diagnostic tools to help with commissioning and integrating your Ulrta Servo Drives into your automation system.
Where to download free Allen-Bradley (A-B) Ultra Servo Drive Software:
While the Allen-Bradley UltraWARE website has links to download the software, they either don’t work or require logging in with a registered serial number. However, the Rockwell Software downloads webpage hosts the below link to download a copy of UltraWARE directly from Rockwell’s website:

Yeah, they are constantly updating their website and after over two years it looks like the Ultraware link has move to the below:

mr shawn,ipersonally im downloading ultraware software,i would like to link into abb servo drive.i used rs 232 for the comm seriel port but cant communicate,,pls help or advice

What type or RS-232 cable are you using? Which A-B servo drive are you using?
Have you checked http://www.ab.com/literature for the manual to insure you have the right cable?

Hi,
I have an Ultra5000 Allen-Bradley Drive since 2007 for a control of PM motor.
It was stoped about 2 years, and now I installed ultraware version 1.8.
I’m using an USB-RS232 serial cable, to link de ultraware software to the Drive.
I think that the definitions of serial port is ok (38400bits; 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, I also tried all flux control modes), but nothing…
The ultraware doesn’t detect de Ultra5000 drive, and it’s status LED is OK.
Do you know what it could be?

Good morning LF,
I’ve personally not used the 5000, so I’m not sure why you can’t connect? It does appear the CN3A port defaults to 38,400K for use with Ultraware. I would check to be sure you’re using a null modem cable, and if you are then check out this public tech note:
