IO-Link/J1939 Radar Scanner Provides 3D Movements Data:

According to a recent article from Turck, the company’s MR15-Q80 is a robust radar scanner designed to record and output environmental data in three dimensions. This device stands out as the only one with these features that is available with a J1939 interface for mobile equipment, in addition to IO-Link compatibility. Operating at 60 gigahertz, the radar scanner can detect objects up to 15 meters away within freely definable detection angles of 120° horizontally and 100° vertically. The data provided by the MR15-Q80 can be utilized for various applications such as 3D object detection, collision avoidance, height control, or blind spot monitoring. Radar technology, as employed in this device, is more robust compared to alternative solutions like laser or ultrasonic sensors, making it highly suitable for use in mobile equipment, port facilities, or intralogistics applications.
