Operation element PIT oe ETH – activatable Ethernet port:
In a recent article from Pilz, it was reported that the PIT oe ETH serves as an industrial Ethernet interface that can be fully activated and deactivated electrically. This functionality allows it to operate as an expanded Ethernet interface of an industrial PC. Authorized personnel are granted the option to temporarily activate the interface for tasks such as installing new programs or configurations, as well as creating backup copies. The interface elements can be activated via any controller. When combined with the PITreader output, activation is only possible with corresponding permission, ensuring that access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
