Ignition 8.1.39: Micro800 Driver, EAM Quality-Of-Life Improvements, Tab Indexing In Perspective:
In a recent article from Inductive Automation, Ignition 8.1.39 has been highlighted for its array of exciting updates. The introduction of the long-awaited Micro800 Driver stands out among these new features. This addition completes Ignition’s Allen-Bradley Ethernet driver suite, providing users with a seamless way to communicate with the Allen-Bradley Micro800 series of PLCs via Ethernet/IP.
One key advantage of this driver is its ability to simplify device connections. It eliminates the need to use the Modbus protocol and instead uses CIP, which enhances interoperability. The Micro800 Driver supports Micro820, Micro850, and Micro870 PLCs, improving tag browsing by enabling browsing from the controller and defining or importing unbrowsable tags via CSV. Furthermore, it allows read/write access to controller-scoped tags and provides request and device-specific diagnostics.
Aside from the Micro800 Driver, Ignition 8.1.39 also includes quality-of-life improvements to the Enterprise Administration Module (EAM), customizable tab indexing in Perspective, and more. These updates enhance user experience and further streamline operations within the Ignition platform.
