How to get free A-B PLC Sample Programs

I get asked a lot by my students where they can get sample programs for MicroLogix PLCs.

I tell them that, in addition to the sample programs found in the product’s user manual, Rockwell also make over twenty fully documented samples available as free donwloads, and in today’s article I’ll show you how to get them.

UPDATE: Check out the new 2017 version of this procedure here.

To start, navigate your browser to http://samplecode.rockwellautomation.com:

Next, type “Connected Components Building Blocks” into the search box and click on the red search icon:

The results will list twenty eight different programs, most of which include a sample MicroLogix 1100 program that can be opened with the free RSLogix software we covered in a previous article.
