How to get free programming software for the MicroLogix 1000 and MicroLogix 1100:
Step 1: Visit http://www.AB.com
Step 2: Search for MicroLogix Downloads
Step 3: Choose the second link in the return results
EDIT: This link now shows up farther down in the search results in 6th place versus 2nd.
Step 4: Click on RSLogix Micro Starter Lite
Step 5: Choose your save location and download
Optional steps if you have a physical MicroLogix to connect to
Step 6: Click on RSLinx Classic Lite
Step 7: Choose your save location and download
Optional steps if you would like to connect to a virtual MicroLogix
Step 8: Click on RSEmualte 500
Step 9: Choose your save location and download

Not sure exactly what you are asking… sounds like you downloaded the free RSLogix Micro Starter Lite software.
This software is free for use with the MIcroLogix 1000 and 1100. Is the program you’re trying to edit for a 1000 or 1100?
