This Wednesday morning we cover the News, new Articles, and upcoming Events in our Automation This Morning blog.
First up is news that Emerson has made an all cash offer for National Instruments at a premium price of $53 per share. To learn more, read the entire press release here.Next we have a new article about Omron’s new G2RV-ST and G3RV-ST Slim Relays which discusses many of its features including high speed on (.02ms) and off (.4ms) switching times. Today over on the Opto22 website you’ll find a new article spotlighting Convergence Controls and the four pillars of their business model which I found resonated with me as well. To find out what they are, check out the full article here.
A new article from SME is up which focuses on Event Based Vision and features new products from companies like DataLogic and Nikon. Personally I found the Nikon Laser-Radar measuring device of most interest, but you’ll find the details about all the products covered in the article here.
AMT also has a new article out, this one about Hardinge Groups effort to re-shore some of their production from Asia back to Elmira, NY, and to learn the lessons they came away with from the transition, click here.
Today’s final article is from the folks over at Global American, in which they discuss what Edge computing is, and the advantages of it over Cloud Computing in this article here.
There’s also three upcoming events on our list today, with the first being another location that will be holding an Emerson Tech Expo. This one is being held in Bakersfield, CA on February 1st, and you’ll find all the details here.
