Hands protection – Functional Safety:
In a recent LinMot article, customers, including Mr. Kaifel, praised the C1250 servo drives for maintaining the same motor dimensions as the standard version in the 2S variant. This feature eliminates the need for additional hardware, as all safety monitoring is integrated into the drive itself. The drives now offer expanded functionalities such as Safe Stop 2 (SS2), Safe Operation Stop (SOS), Safe Limited Speed (SLS), and Safe Brake Control (SBC/SBT), in addition to the STO (Safe Stop) and SS1 already available on the 1S version. Notably, SBC now includes a Brake Test (SBT) for cyclic checking of the braking effect.
The linear motors, like the drive controller, are designed for functional safety. The most commonly used sizes come with safe encoders, and the 2S motors (stators and sliders) are externally identical, eliminating the need for an additional sensor. They connect to the drive using a single cable solution for safe drive control.
