In a recent article from Codesys, the latest update to CODESYS brings a range of enhancements across its different modules. In engineering, users can now benefit from a new Ladder Diagram editor, Project Compare for object properties, and an improved License Manager, among other features. Additionally, there’s a new License Provider and scripting feature for CODESYS Git, along with improvements to the CODESYS Installer and support for device manufacturers via Deployment Server.
In the runtime environment, there’s support for Application-Based Licenses, a rework of Flow Control, and new features in the Automation Server such as device log and improved start page. Visualization sees enhancements like swiping frames, snaplines in the visualization editor, and the ability to define alarms for types. The Motion CNC Robotics module introduces trigger points on the path to robotics and override functionality for single axis function blocks, among other additions. Finally, improvements in Fieldbus support and communication enhancements including a new product, CODESYS DNP3, and updates to OPC UA and BACnet are also included.
