Today we’re covering news about ISASecure, ABB, PI, Electromate, Digi-Key, Inductive, SME, Rockwell and more in our Automation This Morning blog for Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
First up is a press release from ISA here about an ISASecure initiative to develop OT cybersecurity site assessments.
Also from the ISA is news here about the Digital Twin Consortium and OPC Foundation working together on new colabortations.
The we have an announcement here from Digi-Key claiming they now have the largest offering of Electronic and Automation products.
ABB also announced here that the latest release of their DCS system, SPR 2023.0, is ow out.
As far as new product announcements, we start with PI’s four new product announcements here including products from Turck, LAPP, Balluff, and Baumer.
On to articles, first up is an excellent design guide here from Electromate on Stages, Tables, and Gantries.
Next is an interesting article here from Digi-Key on Traceability 4.0.
And PI also has a new article here on efforts to make robot programming easier, and more integrated with PLCs.
In today’s product spotlight we’re highlighting The Automation School’s Mastering Logix Applications course with PLCLogix. Details on the course can be found here, and like all The Automation School’s online courses, Mastering Logix Applications comes with lifetime access and instructor support.
Today in our pub crawl we ran across two new documents of interest. The first is a new detailed brochure here from Rockwell Automation on their MCS system.
And on the Emerson website we found an updated edition of the Fisher Catalog 95 here.
In today’s Audio/Video file here we’re featuring a new Automation Tech Tip video about using the Micro800 Simulator.
As far as upcoming events, we didn’t find anything of interest so we’re promoting the latest episode of our podcast that will release here this afternoon, and features Ron Bliss from Rockwell Automation.
finally, in our Q&A section today we answer a community member’s question on adding a PowerFlex 525 to RSLogix 5000 v 13, which can watch in the below video edition of Automation This Morning.
