    • Good morning Carlos,

      Great question!

The quick answer is, if you don’t have access to VieME 8.2 then the cheapest way to get it is with an “E-Connect” or “Self-Assist” Automation Support contract from Rockwell.

A twelve month “automation” contract gets you all electronic updates for RSLogix and FactoryTalk View ME, and typically costs less than any individual product.

So while you could buy ViewStudio ME again, it would be cheaper to get a 12 month support contract.

That is if you don’t already have access to 8.2…

When you buy a copy of Rockwell Software, you get electronic access to the version that was released when you purchased the software, as well as several of the older versions.

In my case, I purchased FTViewME when v8 was out, so I can only download v8 and older, and do not have access to 8.1 and 8.2 via my registered copy of the software.

      Hope this helps,

  1. Lately did upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2 mainly counting on solution with View Point problems. Unfortunately there is of course new version of VP 8.2 which is coming with FTV8.2 but issues still not solved. Since Rockwell decided to use HTML5 everything works slow and there is many bugs on screens in View Point. I even sent them report with problems. Technical support response is you should redone every single screen and HMI element on the screen which is causing issues. Good luck with that if your application has 300 screens…
